Last Saturday I was putting away laundry and cleaning out closets. Moving outgrown items from one kid's closet section to the next kid's section, putting things in baskets for garage sale or to hand down to friends, and cleaning out pajama bins.
Random question: Why do pajamas seem to multiply? It is like they reproduce on their own! Every six months I clean out the boys' pajamas and it seems that they have more and more each time.
I took a big step while cleaning out the boys' closet. I took an empty bin and put pajamas in it for Asa. Just for Asa. It is the first time I have designated a space just for him and put clothing in that space. Just for him. It is a big emotional step. I gave myself permission to tangibly prepare for him to be here.
I have purchased a few things for Asa specifically, but I always have the emotional fall back that if he doesn't come home, Ezra can wear or use whatever I bought. But the pj bin is different. Yeah, Ezra will eventually wear the pjs that are in that bin, but this bucket has Asa's name on it. There are four pj bins in the boys' closet now. One for each boy. And they belong to each boy. Asa has a pj bin at our house.
Believing with you, in faith and hope!
