In less than 12 hours my flight departs!
I spent today grocery shopping and our freezer is now full of frozen Daddy friendly junk food. Pizza, hot pockets, frozen pasta dishes, and Stouffer's Lasagna. The fridge is stocked up with lunch meat and cheese and hot dogs. I stocked up on canned corn and green beans. And bought two big bunches of bananas. Hopefully they will get some fruits and vegetables during the week.
The laundry is pretty much done. Everyone has enough clean socks and underwear to last the week. The dishes in the dishwasher are clean and Daddy has a supply of paper plates, disposable cups and plastic silverware.
He asked today, "So, what condition do you expect the house to be in when you get home?" I told him that my expectation was that all children would be alive and in one piece and that was pretty much it. He seemed relieved at that answer.
Tonight we had our Father's Day celebration since I will be gone on Sunday. I love my husband dearly and hope that he has a wonderful time with the children this week. It will be good that he is still working while I am gone. I know that it will create some stress, but I think him going to work will be his sanity. And the kids having different people watch them will hopefully keep their minds off of Mommy being gone all week.
I only have to register my trip with the Department of State and then send an email to the ladies who are keeping the kids during the day next week. Once those things are done, I will be ready to go! Perhaps I will be in bed before midnight tonight!
I will be blogging while in country. Mike will keep the laptop at home but he set me up with a nifty little blue tooth keyboard that will enable me to really type on my phone! Without the keyboard, my blog posts would be very short, probably not worth reading, and full of typos!
So excited for you! Can't wait until you finally get to bring him HOME. Not much longer now (although still too long, I know).
