I was in the check out line at Walmart when I got an email from our agency. You read it and tell me if you would have cried...
Hi Karla,
I received your documents today. As I started looking through them, I notices that bottom of all of the documents is wet. I am not sure what happened, if somebody at the SOS spilled water or they got rained on, but before we do anything with them I have to make sure they dry out. I am going to spread them out on my desk for a night and then continue working with them tomorrow. I will look through to make sure that none of the important information was damaged on the documents.
Tears were right there I tell ya. And I am not an overly reactionary kind of person. People who know me will tell you I take things in stride and don't react too strongly to most things. But this. Oh wow.
I spoke to our rep shortly after the email and she calmed me by telling me that it was only the corners and that no ink, stamps or signatures seemed to be affected. She thinks they will be fine, just a little wrinkled on the edges.
I actually made three original apostilled dossiers, but of course did not remember that I have that third copy at home until the whole thing kind of blew over. But I am so glad I have that "insurance" copy now!
