Our US senators are inquiring to USCIS about the document we need. Our dossier is in Austin and will be apostilled on Friday. Our agency is still waiting on final word of the accreditation. Once we have the USCIS form, we will have to make a choice: wait for our agency to receive their accreditation or transfer over to the only agency that is accredited. We do not want to transfer, but we do not want to wait any longer than we have to. We pray for wisdom and guidance in what to do in that area.
We do not want to transfer for a couple of reasons. One, we do not feel that the agency who is accredited is the most ethical agency out there. They have done things during this four year journey that are just wrong and the thought of giving them any money makes us cringe.
Another reason we do not want to switch are the fees this agency has stated it is charging. $10,500. We have not anticipated much in agency fees at all, much less $10,000 worth of fees. Our current agency's estimation of fees is much lower. But it doesn't do much good if they never get accredited. We want to be good stewards of what God is providing and do not want to jump and switch agencies if that is truly not what God wants us to do. HE is the one providing for this journey and we do not want to waste any of that provision on agency fees paid to an unethical adoption agency.
Please please please pray for wisdom for us. We want to be obedient and above reproach and we want our son home!
