the last time we held him...

I have spring cleaning fever and decided to tackle the hall closet today. We had boxes of papers and junk in there that I had hidden for our last home study visit (ssshhh!) and since we haven't looked at them in, oh, 2 years or so, I decided we could get rid of them.

I found these pictures in one box. They are pictures from our second trip to visit Asa in January 2009. He was 10 months old. He looks very fat and healthy, but what you cannot see from the pics is that at 10 months old he could barely roll over and could not sit up on his own. He spent most of his waking hours in the walker you see pictured below. We spent 5 days with him and by the end of that time, he could sit alone and was starting to try to scoot across the floor on his belly! A little love and hands on care provided a great deal of motivation for him to meet milestones he should have been meeting months prior.

We miss him so much. And we grieve the years of his life we have missed. The last time we held him.....

forgive the poor quality, these were scanned on our 10 year old printer/scanner/fax machine!
