The nesting has begun...

I have given birth three times and we have a son by adoption. And with each child I have had the nesting thing going! It is understandable in pregnancy, the surge of hormones and energy required to get your "nest" ready for the baby. But it never fails to amaze me that it happens also with adoption! There are no physical hormones present, that I know of, but that feeling is there. The energy, the desire to get the house clean and in order and the "need" to have everything ready and "just so" for the little one.

I have directed my nesting urges to cleaning the house. I have cleaned out the drawers in my bathroom vanity and cleaned out the toy drawers in the living room. I reorganized the kitchen pantry on Saturday. Our bedroom, the catch all room, is also looking much cleaner as I worked on that last night. I plan to clean the boys' bedroom and Bethany's bedroom tomorrow.
I have had an unusual season of sickness the last several weeks and have gotten really far behind on laundry. But as I type, the last load of clothes are in the washing machine and the mountain of laundry that had taken up residence on the living room love seat has been conquered and put away!

I have resisted the urge to shop for any clothes for Asa since I just do not have any idea what size he is wearing right now. (We will know soon though!) That means my project list in between this trip and our gotcha trip will include pulling bins out of the attic to see what clothes we have that will fit him and what gaps I need to fill in :)

I was sweeping under the dining room table this morning and as I moved the chairs back into place it struck me that we will need to decide on a new seating configuration soon. We will soon have FIVE children sitting around our dining room table, FIVE children riding in my van, FIVE children sitting on the couch with us as we pray at night, and FIVE wonderful, beautiful children running around the back yard playing and yelling and laughing.
