I have our visa applications all ready to send. Along with a money order for $280. I received the check for the consignment sale and it totalled $281.85. I had a couple of items that were not in the original total that was reported, so my check was more than I had anticipated. And just the right amount to pay for the visas and the money order!
Our lodging is also all in place and airline tickets paid for and confirmed. Childcare arrangements are in the works, the dogs are taken care of and I will soon start gathering our "new" money. Foreign gov'ts don't like to exchange "old" US money, so we must take US bills that are in good shape. Our bank has been very nice in the past to start saving up good looking 100 and 50 dollar bills for us.
One thing I found yesterday that excited me was a stash of local currency we had left over from our last trip! It really makes things real for me and makes me anxious to get on that airplane and get going!
