Does this happen to you? You have one day til you are leaving for vacation, business trip, etc and on that day it seems that you are so busy but nothing actually got accomplished? That was today.
I know that things were accomplished, but as I looked at my To Do list below, it does not seem that many things got checked off! I did deliver the dogs, but with four dogs going to three different locations at three different times, it seemed that that one task took most of the day.
We also ended up at Walmart and Sam's. Again. And we went out to eat for a nice meal with the kids.
Yeah. And I am packed. We just need to rearrange the big bag that we are checking to make sure it all fits and won't get too jostled around and that it is no more than 50 lbs. Funny, that big bag has no clothing in it. We managed to get all of our clothes into our carry on bags. The big checked bag has gifts, snacks, extra shoes, and supplies others have asked us to carry.
We are not leaving the house until about 11 tomorrow morning, so hopefully tonight I can finish putting laundry away and cleaning bathrooms and tomorrow morning we can have some unhurried time as a family.
The kids are excited, but our daughter has begun to shed some tears about us going. She seems to be the most independent of our kids, but she always takes it the hardest when we go out of town. Please pray for peace for her little heart. It is perhaps the hardest part of international adoption: feeling torn between the needs of your children at home and the needs of your child in another country.
