We got our travel dates! We will leave on July 20, arrive in country on the 22nd and take Asa out of the orphanage on the 23rd. The first week will be spent applying for birth certificates and passports and then we will travel by car to the embassy to apply for his visa. We will return to the states on August 2nd, have an overnight layover in Dallas and be home on the 3rd!!!
What a journey this has been. We received Asa's referral on August 11, 2008. He was not yet 5 months old. We first held him on August 29, 2008. And now, almost 4 years later we will bring him home. Never in our wildest dreams did we think it would take this long. Never.
We are not out of the woods yet. Prayers are still needed for the process as a whole, and for our process. We have learned, oh have we learned, nothing is for sure in international adoption and we won't truly breathe a big sigh of relief until we are home with his boy!
We do know for sure that we have airplane tickets booked, lodging booked and that on July 20th we will travel half way around the world. And we hope that it is the last time we have to make that journey!
