Six days and Garage Sale update!

six days.  less than a week.

Sorry that I missed posting yesterday.  I know you were all on pins and needles waiting and wondering, what in the world will she post?!?!  Haha!

But we were busy!  Busy preparing for our garage sale!

And have a sale we did!  We had a ton of things to sell.  So many very nice things.  I had several peple comment at how nice the items were.  Our building was stuffed and we had a great deal of merchandise outside also.

The sale was to start at 8.  By 7 am we were prepared.  But the buyers were absent.  And at 8 am they were absent. And at 9 am, absent.  We began to worry.  Mike went to the convenience store to grab a paper.  Sure enough, our advertisement had not been printed in the paper.  And our sale location was not in a prime spot to get ANY drive by traffic.

Everyone who was there to help began posting on Facebook about the sale and texting everyone they knew and asking everyone to pass the word.  As I looked at my Facebook news feed I was brought to tears at all of my friends posting about our sale and asking their friends to spread the word.  And I was reminded that we cannot count on people for that which only the Lord will provide.  We were to trust HIM to provide.  He may or may not use this garage sale.  But we are not to worry.

A few of our helpers set off down the street to try and gather customers.  They made signs and stood on a busy street corner flagging people down.  Our pastor's wife walked into a once a month passport application seminar/meeting to tell people about the sale happening down the street.  Another friend took Bethany and they made signs and posted them all over the nearby Walmart parking lot.

And at 10 am the buyers showed up!  And we had a steady stream of people from 10 am until 1:30 pm.  We sold every item of furniture we had for sale.  At the end of the sale we were able to take one trailer and truck load to Goodwill.  The rest of the stuff was sold!

The grand total from the sale.....

$2393!!!

Oh my!  We are so thankful and in awe of God's provision.  He truly is faithful and so generous to us, even in our (many) moments of fear and doubt.

Thank you to those who donated items to sell, those came to the sale and encouraged us with your presence, and to those who came and braved the heat to work with us today.  We are so so blessed by your friendship and support.  Thank you.
